3 Facts About Your Thoughts That Can Enhance Your Life

The outer conditions of a person's life will always be found to be harmoniously related to his inner state...Men do not attract that which they want, but that which they are.  ― James Allen, As a Man Thinketh

As you can surmise by the quote above, our life is a reflection of the sum total of our thoughts. If we want to do or have something in life we need to be it first. In other words, act as if we already are what we desire or have what we desire, with feeling.

The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.― Albert Einstein

There are three important factors that deeply affect what we get out of life. The first is: Our thoughts create our reality.

If we want to change our circumstances we need to change our thoughts, because our circumstances are a result of the thoughts we’ve had prior to that condition. I know it seems too simple, and it’s easier for us to blame outside forces for the conditions in our life. The problem with placing blame outside of us is that our circumstances will remain the same. Our conditions won’t change to any great degree until we accept responsibility and take conscious control of our thoughts and feelings.

A man's mind may be likened to a garden, which may be intelligently cultivated or allowed to run wild; but whether cultivated or neglected, it must, and will, bring forth. If no useful seeds are put into it, then an abundance of useless weed seeds will fall therein, and will continue to produce their kind. ― James Allen, As a Man Thinketh

We have a choice: we can continue with the same line of thinking that has brought us to our current stage in life, or we can take control of our thoughts and change the course of our life to one of abundance and joy. Of course, if we are already experiencing a life of abundance and joy then we know we are practicing right-thinking, as our experiences in life are a reflection of our thoughts.

In the measure that you master self, that you control your mental forces instead of being controlled by them, in just such measure will you master affairs and outward circumstances. – The Path of Prosperity, James Allen

The second factor is: We can change our reality by changing our thoughts.
One of the most difficult things in life is to ignore what life presents to us and imagine what we want instead. However, that is a key ingredient to living the life of our dreams. – seeing in our mind’s eye what we want to be, do or have rather that what we are currently experiencing.

Very little self-action or self-motion will be required when you understand and use thought to do most or all of the work. You may choose to now be in the possibly wise .1 percent who daily do seemingly impossible things, both speedily and also effortlessly.Russ Michael, How The Law of Attraction Works

The interesting thing is that positive thoughts combined with vivid visualization and feeling – feeling as if we already have that which we desire - create something magical within and much less effort is required to achieve lasting results. However, it is important that we follow the urges we have to take action.

Our mind is like a computer and we are the operator, in control of what the computer provides. The computer has no volition of its own; it produces what it is programmed to produce by our conscious mind. It’s programmed by impressing our thoughts onto our subconscious mind via our feelings.

We are always creating with our thoughts; it’s just that most of us are doing it unconsciously, without taking conscious control of what we are thinking about.

For example, when we worry about something we are impressing exactly what we don’t want onto our unconscious mind via our feelings.

The mind is everything. What you think you become.  – Buddha

A man is what he thinks about all day long. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

You become what you think about. – Earl Nightingale, The Strangest Secret

Change your thoughts and you change your world. – Norman Vincent Peale

For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. – PROVERBS 23: 7

Here again, we are reminded that our thoughts are things; they’re energy and our circumstances are a direct result of our thoughts.

The third factor is: Only we have control of our thoughts.
We Are In Charge of Our Mind and What Our Thoughts Produce. We are in control of our thoughts and we control them via our will. Our life, as we know it today, is the sum total of our thoughts to this point in time. The good news is that if we don’t like the direction our life is going we can change it one thought at a time.

The key to making lasting change is to hold the vision of what we desire with feeling as often as possible as we go about our day. An easy way to do this is to use something as a trigger. For example, we can use every time we wash our hands during the day as a reminder to hold the thought of what we desire with feeling, in your mind’s eye seeing yourself doing, having or being what you want with the feeling of having attained your goal.

It’s also a good practice to set aside 5 to 15 minutes three times a day to relax and visualize what we want to be, do or have, focusing mostly on the end result and employing as many of our senses as possible: touch, smell, sight, hearing and taste.

In the Bible it says "To him that hath it shall be given and to him that hath not it shall be taken away." When we maintain the vision and feeling of being, doing or having something, we have it and we will eventually receive it. However, if we don’t, we will not receive it or it will be taken away. A prime example is people who come into riches via a windfall, like a lottery, and are penniless within a matter of years.

Gratitude is a key ingredient as well, as you can see from this Wallace Wattles quote from The Science of Getting Rich:
First, you believe that there is one Intelligent Substance, from which all things proceed; second, you believe that this Substance gives you everything you desire; and third, you relate yourself to it by a feeling of deep and profound gratitude.

I’ll leave you with this…
To think according to appearance is easy; to think truth regardless of appearances is laborious, and requires the expenditure of more power than any other work man is called upon to perform. – Wallace Wattles, The Science of Getting Rich

Through his power to imagine and feel and his freedom to choose the idea he will entertain, man has control over creation. Control of the subconscious is accomplished through control of your ideas and feelings. – Neville Goddard, Feeling Is The Secret

I encourage you to invest the time and effort to take conscious control of your thoughts and emotions, thereby producing the life of your dreams; and keep in mind that feeling is the secret. This needs to be done consistently; it’s necessary to be persistent and not give up. You can do it!

Three facts:
  1. Our thoughts create our reality.
  2. We can change our reality by changing our thoughts.
  3. Only we have control of our thoughts.

Embrace life and thrive!

I attended a conference in Las Vegas on October 21, 23 and 24, 2016 with 1000 other individuals who have their own online business. This event featured several 6 and 7-figure internet marketers. These are people who are involved in successful online businesses and make over $100,000 a year and more… much more in some cases. And they love to share their stories and how others can do it too!

One of the speakers was a Hollywood insider as well, and this is what he had to say about YouTube:

  • You have to be doing videos; tell stories, especially your story!
  • Keep your videos short… 3-5 minutes.
  • Good video quality is important, so be sure to have good lighting.
  • Good audio is more important than good video quality – use a lavalier microphone.
  • Your smartphone is great for shooting quality videos.
  • Tell your story, as YOU are the secret sauce!

To your success,

Randall

Hello, and thanks for your interest in my blog!

Today I'd like to talk about being outside of one's comfort zone and I will most likely be writing about this again in the future, as it's so important for personal growth.

Years ago I listened to an audio program. I think it was a Brian Tracy program and he said "Get comfortable being uncomfortable."

I remember a time when I put this to use when I wanted to be a better public speaker, so I asked a dear friend and mentor, Ronna Herman Vezane, if she would allow me to introduce her at an upcoming seminar. She agreed and I introduced her at the seminar. I remember shaking like a leaf as I stood there in front of sixty-five people. Now when I speak in front of groups I feel comfortable and relaxed - at ease - because I faced my fears.

Magic happens outside of our comfort zone.

I encourage you to spend time outside of your comfort zone.

Jack Canfield says: "Most everything you want is just outside your comfort zone."

I encourage you to make life an adventure!

The main focus of this blog will be the following:

Self-help, because we have the ability to change and since we can change, we may as well change for the better.

Internet based business, because an internet based business is something people can do from home, and on a laptop while they’re traveling… it can be done anywhere in the world, as long as you have a good internet connection. And it provides freedom – lots of freedom! There are numerous ways to approach an internet business these days, so there is a lot to choose from.

Travel will be another topic covered from time to time. I love to travel and I enjoy sharing my travel experiences.

A Little About Me...
My name is Randall Monk. At the age of 71 (as I write this) I’ve been around the block a few times. I was born and raised in a small Illinois farm town, joined the U.S. Army right out of high school, and moved to Northern California… the San Francisco Bay Area after being discharged from the Army. Initially I lived in Oakland, California, where I attended a local junior college and obtained an Associate Degree, while I was learning to fly airplanes. I was planning to be a commercial pilot at the time. Instead, I became a black belt in Kenpo Karate and Danzan Ryu Jujitsu and taught martial arts for a number of years.

I remained in California for forty-two years; where I was in the mortgage business for just shy of thirty years. I moved back to Illinois in 2008 and am about to move to the Reno, Nevada area. I miss the mountains!

I’ve been involved in self-help and internet marketing for a number of years. I started studying self-improvement in the early 1970’s and started poking my toes into the internet marketing business around 2007.

Have I been successful in the internet marketing business? Marginally; however, I believe that’s about to improve and I’d like to take you on that journey with me and to do that I’ll be sharing my story and experiences as I go.

Because I have a wealth of information from my many years of being a student of self-help (and I still am a student, as well as a teacher) I’ll be sharing that information as well.

I hope you’ll consider allowing me to participate in your life in a positive manner. I love sharing what I’ve learned over the years and, being young at heart, I continue to learn and grow mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Til next time,

Randall Monk
